On April 15th, 2009, I went down to New York City for the Tax Day Tea Party.  Andrew Wilkow of Sirius /
XM's Wilkow Majority show had a pre-tea party get together at the Patriot Saloon for fans of the show.

I drove down to NYC and met up with Rizzuto and Board-op Mike from the Wilkow Majority as well as Kayla
from Octane Channel at the Sirius Satellite Radio building.  We took the subway down to the Patriot Saloon on
Chambers Street.  When we got there, there were probably about 100 fans already there.  People were just
having a good time.....drinking some beers....eating some food.....and meeting new people.....talking politics.

Andrew showed up about 30 minutes later with his wife Brittany.  The bar erupted in cheers.  By this point, the
crowd had swelled to about 300 people.  Andrew and Rizzuto talked with all the fans.  They took pictures with
whomever wanted pictures.  The whole event was completely casual.

Andrew got up on the bar, gave a short speech, basically thanking everyone who had shown up, and we all went
back to just having a good time interacting with one another.  I was happy to meet some of my Facebook and
MySpace friends in person.  Then most of us walked up to the area where the official tea party was being held.
Here are some of the people at the Patriot Saloon
before Andrew Wilkow arrived.  By the time we left, the
crowd swelled to about 400 people

With the steady increases in taxation, regulation and entitlement programs over the past 80 years, I would say the
"Tea Party movement" was looooong overdue.  However, many in this nation have already staged Tea parties and
many more are still planned.  April 15th, Kellen Giuda and David Webb organized the New York City Tea Party,
which I attended.  News reports grossly underestimated the number of people that showed up to protest an
overbearing government that is taxing the citizens of this nation at confiscatory rates.  Many news outlets estimated
that only 2500 - 5000 people were there.  However, the official crowd tally done by the New York City Police
Department estimated the crowd to be approximately 12,500 people.  All I can tell you, is that I couldn't see the
end of the crowd which took up several city blocks.

The line up included several speakers as well as some entertainment.  The speakers included:

- Former Speaker of House Newt Gingrich
- Andrew Wilkow of Sirius Radio
- KT McFarland, Security Adviser in the Reagan Administration and regular Fox News contributor
- S. E. Cupp, author and regular Fox News contributor
- Nick Rizzuto, Producer at Sirius Radio and founder of www.conservativepunk.com
- Brett Joshpe, Author, VP of Parcbench Media and General Counsel of the American Civics Exchange
- Kellen Giuda and David Webb the event's hosts

Are the tea parties going to change the country over night?  Probably not.  Did the Sons of Liberty believe their
Tea Party would have such an effect that more than 230 years later, citizens of this country would still be talking
about their actions?  Probably not.  But their Tea Party did change things for the better.  And the possibility that
the Tea Parties we attend will change things for the better is great, so long as we take it seriously and show up in
numbers that no one, not even the liberal media can ignore.  This is our chance to make history.  This is our
opportunity to tell a government that they can no longer walk all over us and  confiscate our hard earned money
through oppressive taxation.  This is our time to do something great.
Random shots of the crowd.  Unfortunately, none of my photos of the speakers came out properly.
