I was listening to Laura Ingraham's show the other day. There was a guest host but they replayed a snippit of a
Laura talking. She said, "I'm an American first, a Conservative second, and a Republican third." I could not agree
more with her. These days, it seems as if the politicians, on both sides by the way, are Democrats/Republicans
first, Conservatives/Liberals second, and Americans third. I think it's fair to say, although I'm sure some would
disagree, that it seems to happen more so on the left. Take Ted Kennedy ripping in to Rumsfeld and quite
honestly the whole U.S. military for example. Here we are in the middle of a war and a Senator is saying these
awful, untrue things about our own people, on camera for the whole world to see. For what? Politics? For the
Democrat Party? How about Durbin, Pelosi, Kerry, Dean, Reid? Do I need to go on? If you're on this site,
chances are you've heard the irresponsible things all these people have said so I am not going to quote them all.
As a Conservative and a Republican, I think it's great that the Liberals and Democrats are saying these things. It
just proves to the voter base how far out of touch they all are. It shows that they are willing to do or say anything
if they think it will get them back in to power. I think it will backfire and they will lose even more seats, which is
great if I am looking at it as a Conservative or Republican.
But like Laura said and I agree....I am an American first. It is absolutely dangerous for America for the
Democrats and Liberals to keep saying the things they are saying. It gives ammunition to our enemies to use
against us. It makes the already dangerous job our military is involved in even more dangerous. In my mind, they
are causing more casualties by flaming the fire with their lies and distortions. They are causing more hatred
towards there own country in the name of politics. That is completely unacceptable to me as an American.
So I say to them, "Before you were a Democrat or Liberal...Before you were a Republican or Conservative...You
were an AMERICAN.
