Just as a quick aside, the reason that "Welcome Home" piece touched me so much is that when I got back from Nam
in December of 1967, I was standing in San Francisco Airport with a couple of Marines who had just returned and we
were looking to see where our flights home were boarding. As we were standing there, a couple of the "Flower
Children" walked past us and asked us how many babies we had killed over there. Four of my friends' names are on
The Wall in D.C., and I will never forget the feelings that went through me from that incident.
I belong to the American Legion here, and from talking to a few of the other Nam vets I found out that I wasn't the only
one who was welcomed home this way. That's one of the reasons I became a more vocal conservative when John
Kerry ran for President. They should have tried him for treason for giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war.

I wanted to let you know that today, my two friends and I went off campus to a local wings place. I went to the
bathroom in the back and as I was walking back up to the front I noticed an older man sitting in the last booth reading a
newspaper. As I got a little closer I noticed that he was wearing a hat that read "U.S. Army veteran." I immediately
thought of your editorial "thank a soldier". At first, I was a little shy and I just walked by and we caught eyes. This
encouraged me and I stopped and asked if he was in the military. He replied that he was. I told him that I was thankful
for his military service. The old timer gave my an "ok" sign and a wink. Later as I was walking out, he walked up to me
and told me that he appreciated me thanking him. This made me feel incredibly good about myself and I have to say
that this the start of a tradition for me and I will now feel a great deal more comfortable talking to and thanking veterans

Hi Trent. I had to let you know, I worked up at my kids school this week selling tickets for their dance,so the little "

Hi Trent. I had to let you know, I worked up at my kids school this week selling tickets for their dance,so the little "
trouble maker" lol in me had to come out I wore my PRO LIFE shirt,and of course the principle asked me if I "had a
jacket I could cover It up with? NO WAY was my response. My husband wore his right wing shirt to chaperone the
