WASHINGTON D.C. MAY GET A REPRESENTATIVE EVEN THOUGH IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL

The United States Senate passed a bill which gives Washington D.C. a representative in the House of Representatives.  The bill is being sent to the House of representatives where it is thought that it will easily pass.  Hello?  Senators?  Representatives?  Have none of you read the Constitution?  Here...let me help you:

From the Constitution Article 1 Section 2:

"The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.

No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen."

Notice the Constitution clearly says "State."  It does not say "city" nor does it say "district."  This precludes Washington D.C. from having a representative in the House of Representatives.  In order to lawfully give give Washington D.C. it's own representative in the House, the Constitution would need to be amended.  Seriously, has anyone in D.C. read the Constitution?

STUART VARNEY RIPS AN ACORN "ACTIVIST"

Stuart Varney just absolutely destroys this ACORN activist who thinks people who don't pay their mortgage have a right to stay in the homes. Notice I didn't say "their" homes. It doesn't become their home until they've payed off the mortgage.

THE DIVORCE SETTLEMENT

A friend of mine sent this to me. I thought it was good so I figured I'd post it here:

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce.. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass, each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy!  Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets, since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

We don't like redistributive taxes, so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood.

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.  You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values...You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McLain. You can also have the U.N...but we will no longer be paying the bill. We will keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can give trickle-up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag. Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

BATTLE 4 LIBERTY

I wanted to share a great new blog with you.  I don't do this very often....actually....I'm not sure if I've ever made a quick blog post about another blog, but I am a fan of this blog as well as the man who runs it.  For those of you who are fans of Andrew Wilkow (The Wilkow Majority) on Sirius and XM satellite radio, you undoubtedly know who Dr. John Parnell is.  He is the Belk Chair of Management at the University of North Carolina - Pembroke.  He is a frequent guest on Andrew's radio show and has even filled in for Andrew.  Every time he is on, I learn something new or at least view an issue from a new angle.

Dr. Parnell has recently started his own blog site called Battle4Liberty.com.  I encourage you all to check it out and read his blogs.  They are informative and give you that extra bit of knowledge to help you debate the libs in your life.

A LETTER TO MY EMPLOYEES

Yeah I know this has been floating around the internet for a few months.  But I still have people sending it to me, which means there are still a lot of people who have never seen it.  It's good so I figured I'd post it here:

A LETTER TO MY EMPLOYEES:

To All My Valued Employees,

There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company and, more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn't pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country.

However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interest.

First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner, there is a back story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You've seen my big home at last year's Christmas party. I'm sure all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.

However, what you don't see is the BACK STORY:

I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you.

My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I saved went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn't have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business -- hard work, discipline, and sacrifice.

Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom's for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the discount store extracting any clothing item that didn't look like it was birthed in the 70's. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.

So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9am, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5pm, I don't. There is no "off" button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a 1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden -- the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations... you never realize the back story and the sacrifices I've made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn't. The people who overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed more than a decade of my life for.

Yes, business ownership has is benefits but the price I've paid is steep and not without wounds.

Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why:

I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don't pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time. On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my "stimulus" check was? Zero.. Nada. Zilch.

The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or the single mother, sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the real economic stimulus of this country.

The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you'd quit and you wouldn't work here. I mean, why should you? That's nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree, which is why your job is in jeopardy.

Here is what many of you don't understand ... to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly, the government mandated to me that I didn't need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But - you can forget it now.

When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don't defibrillate and shock his thumb, thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of  America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in  Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth; this is the type of change YOU can keep.

So where am I going with all this?

It's quite simple.

If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I'll fire you. I'll fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child's future. Frankly, it isn't my problem any more.

Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire. You see, I'm done. I'm done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work, and to provide jobs, will be destroyed and, with it, will be my citizenship.

So, if you lose your job, it won't be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steam-rolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about....

Signed,

THE BOSS

TEXAS CLAIMS SOVEREIGNTY UNDER THE TENTH AMENDMENT

There are actually several states working on similar resolutions, but the wording in the Texas resolution is perfect.  Here is the text of Texas H.C.R. 50.

It's about time that the states start pushing back at the federal government.

JOHN BOEHNER'S SPEECH ON THE FLOOR BEFORE THE VOTE

John Boehner, House Republican leader, speaks on the floor shortly before the House was set to vote on a bill that not a single member of the House had read. This is no stimulus bill. House Republicans were right to vote against this bill and Senate Republicans, with the exceptions of Collins, Snowe and Specter got it right also. Collins, Specter and Snowe.....time for you to go. Conservatives need to run against these 3 the next primary they are involved in. This bill is so unconstitutional....I can't even believe it was even voted on in the first place. Change? Yeah....from capitalism to marxism.

VOTE ON THE "PORKULUS BILL" TODAY?

The Drudge Report has the headline, "HURRY, FELLAS, LET'S VOTE, I AM OFF TO ROME!" and says there is an effort to have the vote today because Speaker of the House Pelosi is leaving on an 8 day trip to Europe. If this turns out to be true, the Democrats will have broken their promise (BIG SHOCK...I KNOW) to have the bill posted for a minimum of 48 hours before any vote so that the public can read the bill.

Sen. Lautenberg (D-NJ) said if the vote occurs today, none of his colleagues would be able to read the entire bill, which has grown to 1071 pages, before they vote on it. My guess is that is a purposeful act.  As more details have emerged from the "stimulus" bill and the public has become increasingly aware of what is in the bill (PORK) and what is not in the bill (STIMULUS), the bill's popularity has plummeted in the public's eye.  By rushing a vote, all of the marxist policies....and yes I said marxist policies, not as a buzz word, but as a statement of fact.....hidden in the bill will have a better chance of passing.

This is the single biggest power grab by Washington in my lifetime if not ever.  It must be defeated.  Continue calling your senators and representatives as well as the senators and representatives of other districts and states as well.

SEN. JUDD GREGG WITHDRAWS AS COMMERCE SECRETARY NOMINEE

Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) withdrew his name for consideration as the Commerce Secretary in the Obama administration.  In his statement he said,

"I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. I especially admire his willingness to reach across the aisle.  However, it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy."

I'll be honest, I have not followed Judd Gregg's career at all.  I don't remember his name coming up often as I was looking at major votes Republican Senators made that I disagreed with.  I also don't remember seeing his name often as I researched Senators who were instrumental in pushing for conservative ideas.  I'm not saying he's done neither.  I'm saying he never stood out to me.  So with all that said, I was thinking he was extremely foolish for accepting the nomination for the Commerce Secretary under President Obama.  I'm glad he has come to his sense and realised he was being used as a pawn in high stakes game of chess.

Some in the Obama administration seemed to be caught off guard by the withdrawal while others said Gregg had signaled he was having second thoughts.  All of that is just spin anyway.

Gregg was the second Obama nominee for commerce secretary who has withdrawn.  Gov. Richardson of (D-NM) was the first to be nominated and the first to withdraw because of a federal investigation into whether or not he improperly exchanged government contracts for contributions to three Richardson political committees.

COLLINS, SPECTER, SNOWE....TIME FOR YOU TO GO!

Sen. Arlen Specter, Sen. Susan Collins and Sen. Olympia Snowe all need to be voted out of office next time they are up for re-election.  They have been on the wrong side of numerous votes in the past, but voting for this "porkulus" bill is the final straw.  They all need to go.  The three of you are sad, pathetic excuses for Senators.  Why do you bother staying in the Republican Party?  It's people like you that make people like me not want to be associated with the Republican Party.

I strongly encourage voters in Maine and Pennsylvania to throw these bums out of office.   Sen. Specter is up for re-election in 2010.  Sen. Snowe is up for re-election in 2012.  Sen Collins is up for re-election in 2014.

SEN. STABENOW, THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE AND HER HUSBAND

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) was on a radio talk show today and had the following conversation with Bill Press:

BILL PRESS: Yeah, I mean, look: They have a right to say that. They’ve got a right to express that. But, they should not be the only voices heard. So, is it time to bring back the Fairness Doctrine?

SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I think it’s absolutely time to pass a standard. Now, whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else — I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place.

BILL PRESS: Can we count on you to push for some hearings in the United States Senate this year, to bring these owners in and hold them accountable?

SENATOR DEBBIE STABENOW (D-MI): I have already had some discussions with colleagues and, you know, I feel like that’s gonna happen. Yep.

So she is calling for the Fairness Doctrine or something else with a different name to be enacted or re-enacted to make radio "fair" and "accountable."  Perhaps Sen. Stabenow has never read the Constitution.  Heck, she doesn't even need to read the whole thing.  All she needs to read is the 1st Amendment.  Here, I'll post it for her.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition
the Government for a redress of grievances.

Now the fun part.....fun in the liberals are friggin idiots sense.  Sen Stabenow's husband, Tom Athans is a liberal talk radio executive.  He was a co-founder of Democracy Radio.  That failed.  He then went to work for Air America as their Executive Vice-President.  That also failed.  Then he co-founded TalkUSA Radio.

Point is.....her husband keeps getting involved in all of these failed liberal radio enterprises.  Maybe....just maybe she's sick of seeing her husband fail time and time again.  Perhaps she thinks the fairness doctrine can finally make one of his enterprises successful.  Even with the fairness doctrine, liberal radio will continue to be a miserable failure.  No one wants to listen to people whine and moan all day.....and that's what liberal radio is.

Maybe she just wants one of his liberal radio businesses to work so that he stays busy and away from the hookers.  And no that's not a nasty joke.  Google his name and prostitution.

BABY BORN ALIVE AT ABORTION CLINIC.....THEN KILLED!

Hey pro-choicers........abortion is o.k. right? I mean it's just a glob of cells right? It's not a human being right? Then you should have no problem with the following story:

"Eighteen and pregnant, Sycloria Williams went to an abortion clinic outside Miami and paid $1,200 for Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique to terminate her 23-week pregnancy.

Three days later, she sat in a reclining chair, medicated to dilate her cervix and otherwise get her ready for the procedure.

Only Renelique didn't arrive in time. According to Williams and the Florida Department of Health, she went into labor and delivered a live baby girl.

What Williams and the Health Department say happened next has shocked people on both sides of the abortion debate: One of the clinic's owners, who has no medical license, cut the infant's umbilical cord. Williams says the woman placed the baby in a plastic biohazard bag and threw it out."

CLICK HERE FOR THE REST OF THIS STORY

Doesn't the pro-choice crowd see the hypocrisy in this story?  The story claims that "Even those who support abortion rights are concerned about the allegations."  Why?  Why would they?  Let me get this straight.  If the doctor were there on time and killed the baby while it was still inside the woman, that would be fine and dandy, but the fact that the baby was killed after being delivered all of a sudden makes it a tragedy?  C'mon!  Really?  Do you really not see the hypocrisy in that line of thinking?  Same result....a dead baby.  The only difference was a few minutes and the location of the baby.

Seriously, you pro-choicers really need to think long and hard about this.

ICE CREAM AND THE ELECTION

A friend of mine sent this to me. I thought it was a perfect analogy.

From a teacher in the Nashville area: Who worries about "the cow", when it is all about the "Ice Cream? The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. The Presidential election was heating up, and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election, for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote. To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never met Olivia's parents. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches. Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Everyone applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream." She surely could say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it? She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and fifty-two percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other forty-eight percent of us know we're going to have to feed the cow, and clean up the mess.
