Tony Snow, author, radio talk show host, TV anchor, as well as former White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush has died of cancer at the age of 53.
WASHINGTON - Tim Russert, NBC News’ Washington bureau chief and the moderator of “Meet the Press,” died Friday after suffering a heart attack at the bureau. He was 58. "I think it appropriate to begin with a description of the disastrous consequences of what the Court has done today.
America is at war with radical Islamists. The enemy began by killing Americans and American allies abroad: 241 at the Marine barracks in Lebanon, 19 at the Khobar Towers in Dhahran, 224 at our embassies in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, and 17 on the USS Cole in Yemen.
On September 11, 2001, the enemy brought the battle to American soil, killing 2,749 at the Twin Towers in New York City, 184 at the Pentagon in Washington, D. C., and 40 in Pennsylvania.
It has threatened further attacks against our homeland; one need only walk about buttressed and barricaded Washington, or board a plane anywhere in the country, to know that the threat is a serious one. Our Armed Forces are now in the field against the enemy, in Afghanistan and Iraq. Last week, 13 of our countrymen in arms were killed.
The game of bait-and-switch that today’s opinion plays upon the Nation’s Commander in Chief will make the war harder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed."
"So who has won? Not the detainees. The Court’s analysis leaves them with only the prospect of further litigation to determine the content of their new habeas right, followed by further litigation to resolve their particular cases, followed by further litigation before the D. C. Circuit— where they could have started had they invoked the DTA procedure. Not Congress, whose attempt to “determine— through democratic means—how best” to balance the security of the American people with the detainees’ liberty interests, see Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, 548 U. S. 557, 636
(2006) (BREYER, J., concurring), has been unceremoniously brushed aside. Not the Great Writ, whose majesty is hardly enhanced by its extension to a jurisdictionally quirky outpost, with no tangible benefit to anyone. Not the rule of law, unless by that is meant the rule of lawyers, who will now arguably have a greater role than military and intelligence officials in shaping policy for alien enemy combatants. And certainly not the American people, who today lose a bit more control over the conduct of this Nation’s foreign policy to unelected, politically unaccountable judges.
I respectfully dissent."
Sen. Hillary Clinton is rumored to be "dropping out of the race" at some point today. Don't you believe it. The Clintons always have a strategy to get what they want and this is part of their plan. Now they may end being delusional, only time will tell. By Noel Sheppard | April 22, 2008
It goes without saying that climate realists around the world believe Nobel Laureate Al Gore used false information throughout his schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" in order to generate global warming hysteria.
On Friday, it was revealed by ABC News that one of the famous shots of supposed Antarctic ice shelves in the film was actually a computer-generated image from the 2004 science fiction blockbuster "The Day After Tomorrow."
Adding delicious insult to injury, this was presented by one of ABC's foremost global warming alarmists Sam Champion during Friday's "20/20":
SAM CHAMPION (ABC NEWS)
(Voiceover) Al Gore's 2006 documentary, 'An Inconvenient Truth," makes the same point with actual video of ice shelves calving. Which shots have more impact?
AL GORE (FORMER UNITED STATES VICE PRESIDENT)
And if you were flying over it in a helicopter, you'd see it's 700 feet tall. They are so majestic.
SAM CHAMPION (ABC NEWS)
(Voiceover) Wait a minute, that shot looks just like the one in the opening credits of "The Day After Tomorrow."
KAREN GOULEKAS (VISUAL EFFECTS SUPERVISOR)
Yeah, that's, that's our shot. That's a fully computer generated shot. There's nothing real in there.
SAM CHAMPION (ABC NEWS)
(Voiceover) Audiences expect Hollywood to twist fact into fiction. But Gore's documentary does the opposite, using a fake shot to make a real point, that ice shelves are disappearing, and vanishing ice means global warming.
Apparently, ABC tried to get a comment from Gore concerning the matter, but none was forthcoming:
Sean Hannity posted his "Top 10 Items for Victory" today. If the Republicans want to have any chance of avoiding an absolute beating in November, they are going to have to go back to their conservative roots and start campaigning on these issues.
The voters in Kentucky and Oregon went to the polls to vote in their state's primaries. Here are the results:
BOSTON — Sen. Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital announced Tuesday, four days after the Democratic senator was rushed to the hospital following seizures.
Kennedy, 76, was diagnosed with the tumor Tuesday morning after he underwent a biopsy.
"Preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma in the left parietal lobe," his doctors said in a statement, adding that treatment would likely include "combinations of various forms of radiation and chemotherapy."

Ted Kennedy is one of the biggest liberals in the government. I have been critical of him on many occasions. His policies and his politics have been detrimental to this nation. He has been in the government for way too long. His leaving the Senate will be a good thing for this country. That being said, I would not wish this disease on any person. My mother died from cancer and it is not a disease I would like to see anyone suffer from. My best wishes for his health and to his family and loved ones.

I'm flipping around the channels late last night and I stop on MSNBC to see what nonsense Keith Olbermann is spouting. I hear him say something about his comments about murderers and mercenaries and the far right's reaction to him. I knew EXACTLY what he was talking about, so I stayed tuned in to see how he was going to spin it. "Strangely, when the terms cold-blood killers and mercenaries were used in a public forum, my critics in the lunatic fringe, rather than even considering that the criticism even might be directed at the Pentagon or the administration or Blackwater USA, immediately decided that these were descriptions of our American heroes fighting in Iraq.
It is perhaps instructive, I think, that to the right wing commentators and right wing blogs those terms should first invoke not the war-mongers of the Pentagon, nor the gunmen from Blackwater, but U.S. troops.
I can not imagine that kind of evil knee-jerk reflex. I feel very sorry for those who have shown it. It seems to me that these right wingers have inadvertently shown then their true colors, their instinctive hatred for and contempt for those self-sacrificing Americans who have been needlessly placed in harm`s way by these very commentators and the politicians they support. They hear criticism of our nation`s collective conduct in Iraq and they immediately assume it`s the fault of the soldiers."
"In the wake of an insult that exists only in their minds and never in my words nor in my heart, there remains, I think, only one question to ask: Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin, why do you hate our troops?"

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Democrat John Edwards endorsed former rival Barack Obama on Wednesday, a move designed to help solidify support for the party's likely presidential nominee even as Hillary Rodham Clinton refuses to give up her long-shot candidacy.
Edwards made a surprise appearance with Obama in Grand Rapids, Mich., as the Illinois senator campaigns in a critical general election battleground state.
The endorsement came a day after Clinton defeated Obama by more than 2-to-1 in the West Virginia primary. The loss highlighted Obama's challenge in winning over the "Hillary Democrats" - white, working-class voters who also supported Edwards in significant numbers before he exited the race in late January.
West Virginia voters went to the polls and picked Sen. John McCain as the winner for the Republicans and Sen. Hillary Clinton as the winner for the Democrats.
Sen. Jon McCain has already wrapped up the nomination for the Republicans, yet other candidates are still receiving a good percentage of votes. If this were earlier in the primary process, it would be considered landslide victories. However, considering the other candidates have no chance of getting the nomination and have all dropped out of the race, I think it is significant.

The political correctness nonsense strikes again. An Obama delegate was asked to step down after she was ticketed for calling her neighbor's kids monkeys. Her neighbors are black. Well, if that was all you heard about the story....maybe you might agree that she should have stepped down. But, let's go on with the story and find out exactly what was said and why.My son was raising money for children's cancer research through St. Baldricks. He agreed to shave his head and people donated money. This is the second year he has been involved. Last year, I agreed to shave my head along with him and did it again this year. Last year he raised $885.00. This year he was able to more than double that amount. The current amount raised is $1930.00. However that amount may still go up because a few people told me they were mailing in donations which takes a little longer to post on their site.
I would like to thank everyone who donated....from the $3.00 donation all the way up to the $500.00 donation from one of my MySpace friends. It truly warms my heart. Out of the $1930.00 donated....$1490.00 of it was donated by 46 of my MySpace friends. I would also like to thank all of you that sent me words of encouragement. And thank you to those who reposted my bulletins.
It once again proves that conservatives are the most generous people around.
My camera was acting up so the picture is a little blurry. I may take another one later today....but for now....HERE IT IS....THE AFTER PICTURE!
THANKS,
-Trent
Sen. John McCain has already recieved enough delegates to receive the Republican nomination but the voters are still turning out to be heard. Gov. Mike Huckabee finished second and Rep. Ron Paul finished third."Kentucky Representative Tim Couch filed a bill this week to make anonymous posting online illegal.
The bill would require anyone who contributes to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with that site.
Their full name would be used anytime a comment is posted.
If the bill becomes law, the website operator would have to pay if someone was allowed to post anonymously on their site. The fine would be five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that.
Representative Couch says he filed the bill in hopes of cutting down on online bullying. He says that has especially been a problem in his Eastern Kentucky district.
Action News 36 asked people what they thought about the bill.
Some said they felt it was a violation of First Amendment rights. Others say it is a good tool toward eliminating online harassment.
Represntative Couch says enforcing this bill if it became law would be a challenge."
Once again, my son is raising funds for children's cancer research. He is involved through St. Baldricks. He is gathering donations for this great cause in exchange for agreeing to shave his head bald. If you can afford to, please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. He raised $885.00 last year and has already topped $1000.00 this year. He is currently shooting for $1500.00 or more! I had several customers and readers of ProudConservative.com as well as several of my MySpace friends make donations last year and my son and I were both extremely grateful. Last year, a friend of mine said that she would donate if I shaved my head as well. Of course I did and I will be doing so again this year. The head shaving event will happen on March 17th, 2008. The donation is tax deductible. Thank you everyone for considering making a donation.
***PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CONFIRM YOUR DONATION. AFTER YOU SUBMIT YOUR DONATION, A PAGE POPS UP AND ASKS YOU TO CONFIRM THE DONATION. A FEW PEOPLE HAVE MISSED THIS STEP AND THEIR DONATION DID NOT GO THROUGH.***

P.S. Please let me know if you were able to make a donation so that I can thank you. : )
P.P.S. PLEASE feel free to pass this along to your friends as well if you are so moved to do so. The more people that know about, the more money we can raise for such a great cause.
The following states went to the polls on March 4th: Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas and Vermont. Sen. John McCain swept all of the primaries for the Republicans and in so-doing clinched the nomination for the Republicans. Gov. Mike Huckabee officially dropped out of the race as a result.
Three states voted on February 19th. Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama swept the elections of the day. McCain moved ever closer to securing the nomination while Obama has increased his lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton. The states of Hawaii, Washington and Wisconsin all had elections of one type or another. Hawaii held Democratic caucuses. Washington held a second round of voting, this time primaries as opposed to their earlier caucuses. The Democratic side was non-binding. Wisconsin held primaries for both parties.
